First-Inning Burst Enough To Lead Elkhorn Past McCook

Elkhorn Antlers defeated McCook Bison 15-0 on Thursday thanks in part to 15 runs in the first inning.
 
Elkhorn jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Brooklyn Wragge hit a solo home run to center field, McKenna Duensing hit a solo home run to center field, Ava Crollard homered to center field, scoring two runs, Olivia Rivera homered to left field, scoring three runs, Wragge singled, scoring one run, Crollard singled, scoring two runs, Tynnley Moore singled, scoring two runs, Rivera doubled, scoring two runs, and Jaycey Hargens doubled, scoring one run.
 
Leighton Anderson started in the circle for McCook. The hurler gave up six hits and seven runs over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking none. Lina Aden started the game for Elkhorn. The righty allowed zero hits and zero runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one.
 
McCook didn't commit a single error in the field. Scarlet Thayer had the most chances in the field with three.
 
Elkhorn accumulated 15 hits in the game. Rivera, the number eight hitter for Elkhorn, led the way with five runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Crollard led Elkhorn Varsity Antlers with three hits in three at bats. Moore, Wragge, and Hargens each collected multiple hits for Elkhorn. Elkhorn were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Olivia Beister had the most chances in the field with four.
