ALVA, Okla. – The McCook Community College baseball team got back-to-back complete-game shutouts from a pair of freshmen to lead the Indians to a Wednesday sweep over Northwestern Oklahoma State JV. MCC won 6-0 and 11-0.

Freshman Aviv Bobrov (Shekhanya, Israel) pitched a complete-game shutout in Game 1 with 11 strikeouts and the Indians played errorless ball behind him. MCC put up two runs in the first and second innings and added one each in the third and seventh innings.

In Game 2 the Indians offense erupted for nine runs in the third inning to break up a scoreless game and freshman starter Landon Molloy (Parker, Colo.) pitched a one-hit five-inning shutout.

“Pitching was the name of the game for us today. We got two great performances from Aviv and Molloy, they backed up their starts from last week too,” said MCC Coach Jon Olsen. “We also did a great job of defending the field, didn’t have an error all day and made some really tough plays too.”

MCC improves to 9-11. The team will wrap up their three-day road trip Thursday in Oklahoma City with a game against Southwestern Oklahoma Christian JV.
