MCC golfers fourth in North Platte

NORTH PLATTE – The McCook Community College golf team finished fourth Friday in the two-day North Platte Community College tournament held at Lake Maloney Golf Club.
Eastern Wyoming finished 21 shots ahead of Lamar and 25 in front of Northeastern Junior College to win their third straight tournament to start the season. The Indians had rounds of 331 and 329 to finish at 660 – eight strokes better than fifth-place North Platte.
Rawlins County grad Jeb Kastens (Atwood, Kan.) was MCC’s top placer with a +17. He shot rounds of 78 and 82. Louis Yin (Freshman, Tainan, Taiwan) had rounds of 80 and 81 and finished one shot back of Kastens.
Joackym Mahy (freshman Andenne, Belgium) had rounds of 83 and 81 to finish at +21 while freshman Braiden Portie (Arvada, Colo.) posted rounds of 96 and 85.
Freshman Jalen Collicott (McCook) had rounds of 98 and 93 while sophomore Cole Graham (McCook) had rounds of 90 and 105.
MCC’s next action will be Thursday and Friday Sept. 25-26 when they host the region at Heritage Hills Golf Course in McCook.
