MCC men lose 78-71 to Western Wyoming
CASPER, Wyo. – The McCook Community College men’s basketball team lost in the first game of the Casper Thanksgiving Classic Friday 78-71 to Western Wyoming.
The Mustangs led 39-24 at intermission.
After shooting 39.1 percent in the first half, MCC hit 54.5 percent in the second half and finished the game shooting 48.2 percent – including 25 percent on 3-pointers (five-for-20.) From the line the Indians made 12 of 16 attempts (75 percent).
Western Wyoming shot 49.1 percent from the field, 47.6 percent on 21 tries from the arc and made 12 of 17 free throws (70.6 percent). The Mustangs held a 37-25 advantage on the glass.
Sophomore transfer Madison Peaster (Little Rock, Ark.) scored 20 points to lead MCC. Sophomore Norris Bourne Jr. (Beaumont, Texas) scored 18 points and led the Indians with six rebounds. Freshman Jason Robinson (Waterbury, Conn.) scored 16 points with five boards and freshman Nate Coley, (Little Rock, Ark.) scored 10 points and led the team with four steals.
The Mustangs go to 4-6 on the season.
MCC moves to 5-5 and will take on the hosts Saturday at 6 p.m. Casper is 8-2 on the season.
