McCook Softball Makes Comeback Complete At St Cecilia
(Hastings, NE) - A wild game Thursday night from the Bill Smith Complex would end in comeback fashion for the McCook softball team as the Bison would defeat Hastings St Cecilia by a final score of 10-9. The Bison would trail 9-8 in the top of the 7th inning. With a runner on and down to their final out, McCook would get a two-run home run from Roslyn Wiemers to give McCook a lead of 10-9. McCook would trail early after the end of the first 5-0 but come back to trail 5-4. McCook later would trail 8-5 but then come back with three runs in the top of the 6th to trail 9-8.
McCook would get three home runs in the contest. A two-run home run from Sydney Hodgson in the 3rd inning. Lacyn Keller would knock a 2 run home run along with a solo home run from Dani Johnson in the 6th inning. The final 2 run home run from Roslyn Wiemers would come in the top of the 7th.
McCook is now 23-6 heading to the sub-district post-season round on Monday, October 7th hosting Alliance at the Jaycee Sports Complex at 2:00 pm. Listen live on 93.9 The Zone. Scottsbluff and Gering will follow at 4:00 pm. The winners will then take on each other at 6:00 pm.
