Men’s Basketball Returns to Devaney This Sunday
The Nebraska men’s basketball team takes the Bob Devaney Sports Center court this Sunday, Oct. 13, as the Huskers will host a Red/White Scrimmage.
Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. and free tickets for the event can be claimed by visiting Huskers.com/Tickets. Because of the configuration for Sunday’s scrimmage, capacity will be limited to 6,000 seats. The scrimmage will be two 16-minute halves with a six-minute halftime.
This marks the first time in Fred Hoiberg’s six seasons that the Huskers have hosted an open scrimmage for fans, and the Red/White Scrimmage will take place at the Devaney Center, which served as the home for Husker men’s basketball from 1976 until 2013.
Free parking will be available for the scrimmage in the lots around the Devaney Center and on Innovation Campus. Arena gates open at 1 p.m. and concession stands will be open throughout the scrimmage. Sunday’s scrimmage will be available on Huskers.com and the Huskers app with the radio team of Kent Pavelka and Jake Muhleisen on the call, with a pregame set for 1:45 p.m.
The Huskers return seven letterwinners, including three starters, from a team that went 23-11 and reached the 2024 NCAA Tournament. NU is led by the senior duo of Brice Williams (13.4 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 2.5 apg) and Juwan Gary (11.6 ppg, 6.1 rpg) while adding the services of seven Division I transfers to the lineup. Teams will be determined following Saturday’s practice and will be posted at the bottom of this release on Huskers.com.
