Work will begin on I-80, Odessa - Kearney East Crossover

Sept. 26, 2025 (Grand Island, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin Oct. 1, on Interstate 80 (I-80), from reference post 272+02 to reference post 272+42 in Buffalo County, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Koss Construction Co., of Topeka, Kan., is the contractor for this project. Work includes construction of a median crossover, lighting system, along with drainage improvements at reference post 272+23. Traffic will be maintained on I-80 with temporary traffic control devices. A 12-foot width restriction will be enforced throughout the project. Anticipated completion is Nov. 2025.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
